What to bring

  • Photo ID and your insurance card.
  • A referral and any earlier hearing test records, if you have them.
  • Your current hearing aids and accessories, if you use them.
  • A list of your medications and health conditions.
  • Your questions — and notes about the places where hearing is hardest.

What to expect

A full audiological evaluation may include a review of your medical history, an ear exam and tests such as tympanometry, speech and tone testing, otoacoustic emissions (OAE) or auditory brainstem response (ABR). Your audiologist will explain the results and talk with you about next steps.
